A SPACE FOR HEALING
We are a woman- and queer-owned healing space that offers Reiki sessions and trainings, a curated collection of healing crystals and divination tools, and community healing workshops.
Our focus is to create an inclusive, intersectional community where all experiences are honored and all are welcome, safe, and able to heal.
about the space within
The Space Within, located in the Hampden neighborhood in Baltimore City, on the ancestral land of the Connestoga-Susquehannock and Piscataway Conoy tribes, offers resources for everyone who is looking to improve their lives and to access the deep-healing capacity within themselves.
It was founded by Melisa Mitchell—a Holy Fire® III Usui and Karuna® Reiki Master, Certified Medical Reiki Master, certified animal Reiki practitioner, trained end-of-life doula, intuitive psychic, crystal healer, tarot reader, intuitive coach, and veteran educator.
Melisa’s experience working with Reiki energy, healing stones, intuitive guidance, tarot, and the chakra system has made an impact on her own life and on those of her clients, supporting conventional and complementary medical treatments for a variety of physical and mental illnesses and conditions, as well as for emotional and spiritual healing.
In 2017, Melisa founded The Space Within Reiki to radiate mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness through her community and beyond. After supporting her clients in the management of chronic pain, side-effects of chemotherapy and other Western medicine, migraines, grief, anxiety, insomnia, depression, effects of trauma and abuse, recovery from addiction, and the journey through perimenopause and menopause, Melisa wanted to expand her business to contribute to community wellness in a broader way. She opened The Space Within Reiki and Crystal Shop on January 1, 2022, to offer a place where all are welcome, all are safe, and all are able to heal and access affordable esoteric tools to support that healing.
